Baylee Ferrerra is a performer, dance maker and dance educator based out of Long Beach, California. Originally from Sacramento, Baylee has trained in ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, improvisation, and partnering. She has extensive experience performing and producing concert work through her time working with Sacramento Contemporary Dance Company.

 

She is an alumni of California State University of Long Beach (CSULB) where she earned her BFA in Dance. During her time at CSULB, she has performed in work by faculty members Rebecca Lemme and an ensemble improvisational work under Rebecca Bryant along with student-choreographed pieces for stage and film. These works premiered both in Southern California and in San Juan Sacatepéquez, Guatemala at Connatural Dance Festival. In 2022, she was awarded the Celeste Kennedy Endowed Scholarship by the CSULB Department of Dance. That same year, she was awarded the Martin Figoten Performing Arts Scholarship by CSULB College of the Arts.

 

Outside of school, Baylee has over seven years of teaching experience with dancers of all levels and all ages in a variety of styles. She currently teaches at Elevation Studios in Signal Hill, where she also works as Concert Director. In 2022, her love of teaching led her to receiving her Pilates Certification in both Mat and Reformer.

 

In all that she does, Baylee strives to share her love for movement through performance, education and community--all while creating collaborative and intentional art.
